Amber & Tim | Hershey, PA Day After the Wedding Session

Amber & Tim were married back in June and we were not able to shoot their wedding so they asked if we could do an “After the Wedding” session with them. We  settled on a what we anticipated on being a cool October day. While it was a bit warmer than we thought it worked out perfectly.

Seriously Amber! You are killing me! How incredible are her eyes? They just pierce right through you.

Hello gorgeous light! We love shooting early in the am and you can see why. Gorgeous light and gorgeous people = SCORE!

I just love how casual they are both here. They are both full of smiles and so relaxed. This is the BEST part of the “After the Wedding” Session. You don’t have to worry about getting anywhere or about your dress getting a bit dirty. It can be just about the both of you! MARRIED!

We love people in love. AND we love capturing that love. See exhibit A below.:D

I seriously could have photographed their rings all day. I got way too many good ones. It was hard to decide which to feature. Love ring shots!

After the park in Hershey we wandered over to Hummelstown for a bit and took a tour of main street. The historic Warwick hotel & restaurant.

A perfect fit!

We love shooting in urban settings especially when the first part of the day is spent in nature. Such a great juxtaposition between the pretty and the gritty. Plus fire escapes are just fun to hang out on.

Thanks Amber & Tim! We had a fantastic time with you. Congratulations on your wedding!

Jessica & Peter | Blacksburg, VA Engagement Session

Jessica & Peter just moved to the area from all way on the other side of the country – Washington State. Peter is going to school at VT so they packed their things and trekked aross the country for this new chapter in their life.
We had a great time with these two and loved working with them. We started at the duck pond. It was just a gorgeous day out. This already makes me miss summer!

Doesn’t Jessica look fierce?! Work it girl!

The shot on the left took some time to get since we were shooting on a surprisingly busy road. I took watch for cars as Ben shot and every time a car came by we had to move out of the way and then go right back into it. While it was a slight ordeal, I just love how it came out. Perfect!

Ben & I were excited to see that the VT Solar Decathlon Lumenhaus was on display on the drillfield. We took advantage of the great light peeking out behind it to get some different shots than we usually do on campus. We love mixing it up!

These next two are my favorites!!!! Jessica & Peter look so darn good with each other!

Hello delicious light.

Can’t leave Tech’s campus without getting some shots with the Hokie Stone!

Thanks Peter & Jessica for a great time. Have a fantastic wedding!

Melanie & Alan | Blacksburg, VA Engagement Session

I am not even sure where to start with these two. They were so fun to shoot and so sweet together. I mean, I just want to follow them around and photograph them all day long. Ok, so that might make me like the paparazzi but you get the picture.:)
Alan just got back from Afghanistan. Since he was away for most of their engagement Melanie told me she wanted some pictures of him in his uniform to remember this time in their relationship; and since Alan looks darn cute in it. (right, Melanie?).

Right as we arrive at the session it starts to downpour! We headed into our favorite tunnel at Virginia Tech to get some shots and wait for the rain to stop. A bunch of high schoolers who were on campus for basketball camp also had the same idea. It could have made for some awkward moments but these two were on the entire time.

Melanie, you are GORGEOUS!

They wanted a vintage feel to their photos. I enjoyed having the opportunity to play around with the photos and love how this one came out.

Alan tells the story of how they met so well. His eyes just sparkle as he tells it. Btw – they met at the supermarket!!

Melanie – here are some shots with your favorite umbrella!

Work it, Alan! Seriously, you need to be on the cover of GQ.

Our FAVORITE on the right. Words cannot describe how much we both love this photo.  They just fit into each others arms perfectly. Melanie & Alan, we recommend getting a canvas of this one – we are!

How totally awesome is Melanie’s necklace?! I want one. I googled it and found out that it is from Forever 21. Ben – this would make a great gift.;)

Melanie wanted to make sure they got photos in front of a fence. Check! We love when couples come prepared with ideas. It helps make sure that they get photos that they will enjoy!

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – Every guy needs a Melanie and every girl needs an Alan.

Ahh, we love you guys and can’t wait till your wedding (and hopefully other sessions!). Thanks for being awesome.

Ann & Stephen | Blacksburg, VA Engagement Session

Meet Ann & Stephen. We met them at VT’s campus for their engagement session. We worked our way from the War Memorial Pylons to the Duck Pond and sought out every great spot that Tech has to offer. Their wedding is only a few short weeks away so you will be seeing a lot more of them!

Usually it takes couples a good half hour to warm up in front of the camera and get comfortable but these two worked it out immediately! Kissing and snuggling just comes natural to them.:)

Ann – you’re beautiful!!!

Sitting at their favorite bench on the drillfield. We love that they allowed us to incorporate some of their favorite spots in their photos. We think it helps make the photo have that much more meaning to them.

Hokie Stone + viney goodness + two people in love = YAY!

Pssst…..this is actually the window of the bathroom at the Duckpond!

There is something about the photo on the left that I love! We try not to overprocess and overeffect our images but sometimes a photo just calls for something more.
