We were fortunate to travel up to Philadelphia for Nikki & Dan’s wedding. They were referred to us by one of our favorite clients from last year, Hillary & Matt. We were excited when we pulled up to Normandy Farms where the ceremony and reception were held. One of the reasons why we love out of town weddings is the chance to shoot in new undiscovered locations. Normandy Farms did not disappoint; Nikki & Dan planned a beautiful, fun wedding.
Nikki shined in her Nicole Miller gown. She zipped around in anticipation, getting ready for the day. Love this shot – a quiet moment putting the final touches on a beautiful bridal ensemble.
Nikki & Dan opted to see each other prior to the ceremony for a “First Look”. We love when couples do this. It gives them a chance to talk to each other, share in the excitement of the day privately before they are swept away into the chaos of the rest of the day.
Nikki & Dan jumped right into the photos. It’s pretty easy when you are in love. 🙂
My favorite! They are so cute together!
Isn’t her flower awesome?! It compliments her dress beautifully.
Hello Nikki! Love the shot on the right. Radiant.
This has to be one of my favorite candid shots ever. Between the beers and the groomsmen on the phone it is the perfect capture of the calm before the storm as the guys prepare for the rest of the evening.
The groomsmen decided to nix the jackets and just do vests. It was a hot day in May. Good (and sexy) choice!
I am IN LOVE with their dresses! The perfect bridesmaid dress. Classy and something you can definitely wear again. BCBG for everyone who is wondering!
The ceremony had a lot of personalized touches. First, there was a reading from The Velveteen Rabbit. Then, they decided to go with unique, self written vows. The vows brought out some laughter from both Nikki and Dan. It was the perfect ice breaker to the pomp and circumstance of a wedding ceremony. The officiant offered a few laughs of his own and helped them through it…and then….MARRIED!
Ben & I had a cupcake tower at our wedding so we always love when we see others do it.
The bridal party had some funny entrances into the reception. It is sometimes hard to anticipate where a couple is going to stop and “perform” so I am happy that I was able to capture this hilarious moment at the right time.
After dinner the party really got started! The floor was packed the entire night.
Gorgeous ring, shiny light…don’t mind if I do. Seriously, their friends and family know how to have a good time. Can you guess what they are doing?
Several times during the night the groomsmen did this elaborate double dutch dance that really got the crowd going. I have never seen anything like it before. I wanted to jump in and try my hand at double dutching. This version seems much easier than actually having the ropes there. 🙂Everyone was having a good time. The DJ played everything from Journey to Britney Spears. The crowd loved every moment of it. Congratulations Nikki & Dan! We had such a blast with you, your friends and family. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
