Rachel & Nathan were married on a beautiful May day. Between all of our meetings, engagement session, and bridal session we felt like a true part of their wedding and it made us even more excited to shoot it.
Nathan and his groomsmen had a little bit of trouble figuring out where & how to put their boutonnieres on. I love this capture of the guys figuring it out.
Another great group of ladies! You can tell they have lots of love for each other.
Once the guys finally figured out those boutonnieres it was off to War Memorial for some shots. Nathan was calm before the ceremony. He was ready.
An emotional moment as Rachel walked down the aisle.
One of my favorite moments from their ceremony. They were all giggles during the lighting of the unity candle. It was the first time since they saw each other that they were able to say something to one another.
The ceremony was an emotional one. Love this moment when Nathan reached out to wipe Rachel’s tears. I also loved that he was prepared with that tissue. He’s a keeper!
Yay, Yay! Married!!! One of our favorite moments to capture is right after the ceremony when the couple are first alone and are able to squeal (or share a kiss) about what just happened.
A little romance outside of Burruss. Love this one! I often get some weird looks when I mention this pose but it makes me happy with I get some nice reactions like this.
Then it was off to Hahn Horticulture Gardens for some more fun pictures.
We can’t stress enough the importance of leaving time for pictures of the two of you. We see way too often these pictures get lost in the timeline and pushed aside for other things. Rachel & Nathan had to rearrange their timeline a bit and I am so glad they did. To have a few minutes of letting the day soak in and snuggling with your significant other is just the cherry on top of the whole day. Trust us on this one!
Seriously, how adorable are they!?
Once the photos were over we headed to the German Club for the party. The father/daughter dance had everyone in tears (including Rachel’s mom below)
Even the HokieBird showed up for their big day! He surprised her grandmother. haha. Love this reaction.
Let’s just say that their friends know how to party!
We love ourselves some bubble exits. The dreaminess it creates is the perfect send off.
Best Wishes for a wonderful life together, Rachel & Nathan!
