Traci & Josh | Santillane| Roanoke, VA Wedding Photographer

Virginia, Weddings   /

After meeting Traci & Josh for their engagement session way back in December, we have been looking forward to their wedding. We traveled to Santillane in Fincastle for their wedding. It was our first time shooting there and we LOVED it. We can’t wait to go back. This place is seriously a photographer’s dream. Lots of fun places to shoot and made for the perfect backdrop to Traci & Josh’s big day.

Traci made these hangers for her bridesmaids, mom & mother-in-law. What a sweet token of the weekend.

I love the moment when a bride becomes a bride and this moment with Traci was no exception. She just transformed. It was a magical moment.
Look at these handsome guys!

Traci with her gorgeous bridesmaids.

First Look! These two are the perfect example of how a first look can really be such a great idea for you & your day. The first look moments were so special and sweet. They were able to take the time to experience the joy of the day together before the hustle & bustle of the rest of the evening. Then we walked around the grounds and got some gorgeous pictures without any stress of trying to get to the cocktail hour. And for those who are worried about a first look taking away from the walk down the aisle moment, keep reading…

Handsome groom, gorgeous bride, fantastic setting. Gotta love it!
LOVE these two. They are so perfect for each other.
They were just so happy to be with each other and excited for the day. Hard to tell here but Josh wore cowboy boots under his suit. So much fun! My favorite photo on the right. Doesn’t Traci look like a goddess. Beautiful.
OOOOOOH MY!!! I have to RAVE about the food. They had a pig roast and the food was AMAZING! Of course, we had to get a picture with the pig.
Beautiful flowers from Pretty Petal Design.
This was the moment Traci walked down the aisle. See that emotion!!!! Forget what people tell you about the First Look taking away from this moment. The walk down the aisle still has such gravity as you watch your bride walk down to become your wife (and the same goes for the bride seeing her groom).
We just love weddings. The officiant, Darrell, went out of his way to make it extra special for them. It was great.
A special tribute during the ceremony. Traci explained it to me best – “For the rose ceremony there were three different color roses. The dark yellow roses were in honor of our deceased grandparents, the light yellow roses were to represent our surviving grandparents, parents, and siblings, and the white roses were to represent josh and me. There was also a lily in the vase from the start to represent God.” The poem shei is reading is one she found years ago called “A Blessed Mate”. It was very emotional.

Success! They are MARRIED!
See how beautiful Santillane is! The perfect setting.
Some of the details.
They used photos from each year of their lives as the table numbers.

A family friend made the wedding cake & other cakes for the reception. I, of course, had to taste it for you so I can report back and I gotta say it was fantastic!

Such a fun (& crazy) group.

He sang to her during the first dance. Not just a few words…the entire song; love it!
At sunset, we pulled them aside for some quick photos and we are so happy we did! This is one of my favorites. They seem off in their own little world together. These guys were in it to win it. 🙂Then the dancing really got started. Let’s just say everyone got into this song. Call me maybe.A little “Don’t Stop Believing”. DJ Joey Nicely put on a good show.
I had to include this photo of the food. Did I mention it was amazing! And Josh’s Dad tearing up the dance floor.

These guys also tore up the dance floor all night long. They had some moves!

Country Roads, Take me Home….A bubble exit. I am impressed by how many bubbles their friends & family created. There were so many.

Congrats Traci & Josh! We are so happy for you. Best Wishes!
